I'm going to see The Fray tomorow!

Use Somebody - Kings of Leon

Look, look!! The Fray with Secondhand Serenade live at Palace Theatre. Nice eh!?

Well, let me tell you the story of how the Indian lady at the news-agency conned me into paying extra for these tickets! As you can all see, the tickets cost $66.10 each. There's also an 80cent booking fee per ticket. The seemingly nice Indian lady tells me all these, and confirms the number of tickets I am buying and gets my name and contact number. She then instructs her minion to enter these into the Tiketek machine and 7 tickets to The Fray and a receipt with my name on it magically appears from the machine.

When I asked to pay using EFTPOS, the "now annoying" Indian lady kindly explains that I need to PURCHASE something from the store, anything at all in order for her to enter a puschase amount into the EFTPOS machine and put the $468.65 (from the tickets) as a cashout.

When i could not decide what to get from this overpriced; as all convenience stores are; the "very nice(or so i thought" Indian lady suggest that she just puts $1 as the purchase amount. And so, I agreed. Hey, better than getting something I don't need and paying a ridiculus price for it. And to make up for the $1 she charged me, I grabed a pen from the bin that says 99cents each. Then left the store thinking, "well, that went well".

By the time I got about to looking at the tickets and the EFTPOS receipt, I realised that #@$^ charged me $7 instead of $1. *Kicks self for not checking receipt* Caryn tells me the lady said, "Should I just charge you $1 per ticket?"
I always read the fine prints on contracts but to listen out for fine prints!?! Absurd!! Why the heck would i let her charge me 7 bucks for nothing when i could have gotten 2 drinks for 5 from her fridge!!

I hope I've learnt my lesson now. Thanks for reading thing long and windy post. I'm taking this opportunity to practice writting for my IELTS test this Saturday and by the looks of this, even I wouldn't give myself a Band 7. Anyhooo, looking forward to TOMOROW!! PARTAY Time!

Wednesday

It's Wednesday.

Wednesday is pay day.

But, I didn't get paid today. Damm you Domino's.

Latest goss.

I have a lecturer. He has man-boobs. And he wore an R2D2 t-shirt today.

I have another lecturer. He tells lame nerdy jokes, wears purple pants and doesn't change his clothes for 2 days.
Yesterday he said, "Polaroids are cool tricks to show at parties." * class chuckles*. "At least the parties I go to..."
Then today he asked, after a simulation of the Stern-Gerlach Experiment, "Are you guys all greatly disturbed by now? Good. Greatly disturbed is a pre-requisite for Quantum Mechanics."

Tune in for more lame nerdy jokes.

Sushis at war

Blogging from Alex's Macbook takpro now while he's snoozing away refusing to wake up.

My manager made a mistake with the timetable so i went to uni for no reason. Ah well don't mind the afternoon off. But I do need the money badly. Yesterday was a bit tiring. Started work at 10am at the sushi shop in uni. Yes Plush Fish for those who are familiar. For those who aren't, unlike other jobs, this place is flat out busy from morning till about 3pm. No time to chit chat, look at your watch or do any other stuff unrelated to work. Hands and feet moving the entire morning. As they say at Plush Fish, "It's a warzone in here". First day at uni yesterday and I bear witness to the longest queue just to get sushi (probably partially my fault)!! Think, sushi counter in the shop and all the way to Union House entrance!! The things people do to get sushi eh.

Anyway, good thing i got away half way through crunch time at about 1pm and went straight to class from there. After 3 classes in a row, the boyfren made me walk around with him to settle his graduation stuff then went to look for IELTS books at Borders. An IELTS past exam questions book cost friggin 107 bux!! Got home at about 5pm had some cereal and went off to work at 6pm at Domino's till 8.30pm. After working at Plush Fish, the work at Domino's seems mindless now.

So that pretty much sums up my day yesterday. Oh not forgetting, i managed to squeeze in a game of (.)A before bedtime. :D
